Currently Obsessed: Paint Sticks

Monday, June 24, 2019

We are obsessed with these OOLY,  Chunkies Paint Sticks.
They are relatively mess free,  the little artists is really the only messy part now. You use them like markers but they appear on paper like paint and dry super quickly! I am not sure how well they wash out of clothes yet because we haven't got them anywhere on our clothes. They make an easier toddler painting experience for everyone involved.

I love these super soft and inexpensive pj set. I have them in two colors and some patterned ones.
My mom even purchased them for herself after seeing mine.
They are under $25, you are welcome!

Summer Gingham Edit

Monday, June 10, 2019

Gingham is always a summer print but this year it is really making an appearance in just about every designer and available in many price points, making it a hot trend for the summer season. Don't get me wrong some gingham still looks like a picnic table but with the right piece and styled just so, you will look chic and not picnic table chic. Below are some of my favorite pieces that I have found for you, including menswear and kids.

Styling Tips: Gingham always looks good with white, mix and match the print with same color stripes and have fun with it!

Currently Obsessed: Bundaloo Splash Pad

Thursday, June 6, 2019

We just spent a week at my parents beach house. The beach is the most ideal playground for a toddler. Sand, water and the freedom to run around and make friends. It was a blast! My parents house has a huge wrap around deck and when we aren't on the beach, you can find us on the porch parked up with a refreshing cocktail in hand.  Anders being 2.5 yrs old is always on the run and busy playing so I wanted to make sure we had some activities he could play with to ensure we could continue or tradition of porch lounging.  We ordered a WATER TABLE and then I added on with an impulse purchase, like we all do when shopping on Amazon or a Target. But this purchase was the BEST impulse purchase ever!

This BUNDALOO BABY SPLASH PAD is like a mini blow up pool/play mat/splash pad. As you can see, I could fit in it and Anders demanded at times that I "sit in the pool" too. We didn't have an electric pump, so we didn't blow it up, which made it more like a shallow pool rather then a play mat but it didn't matter and for my 2.5yr old probably worked better. You hook it up straight to the hose and can control the water pressure of how intense you want the waster to squirt out. When my friends babies  {9 months + 4 months} were using it we had the water at a much lower pressure. If your baby is sitting up on their own there is a cushioned seat perfect for them in the corner. We are getting it now for the house even though we have a pool in backyard.

Currently Obsessed: Jack & Emma Embroidery

Thursday, April 25, 2019

I found this online embroidery shop via instagram earlier this year. Since moving back to the South, I knew I needed to get Anders his first Monogrammed Seersucker Romper for the summer. I mean know Southern babe is official until they have one. But they tend to be ridiculously expensive like $100 + once all said and done. That is why when I stumbled upon Jack & Emma Embroidery I was so excited to order one for Ander's Easter outfit.

This adorable soft seersucker romper with monogram was $22 !!! Can you believe that?? The shipment came in about 2.5 weeks and great quality.

Anders LOVED the romper has you can see.....

Now I am just deciding what else should I get now. They have both Girls and Boys items available from bathing suits, rompers, hats, pjs and rotate that items regularly. A great place to grab gifts for your little loves in your life!

Currently Obseseed: Root Cover-Up

Wednesday, April 10, 2019

I can't be the only 35 year old out there that is already getting a lot of greys coming in.

For years, like since I was 11 or 12, I've been coloring my hair whether it was highlights, low-lights, blonde, brunette, black and even red. I was very adventures in my teens and early 20's with hair color and cut. As, I have gotten older I have kept it more of the same and really would only get my hair cut & colored 2x a year. I have the ashy blonde/brunette natural color so as the summer comes along and the more exposure to sunlight my hair naturally blondes on its own. To say that I have been lucky with my hair would be an understatement so it is only fair that the grays have come for me. At first, it was just a little here and there but you had to search for them now, it's starting to get a little "salt and pepper" in the front. Naturally I am having to get my hair colored more like 4x a year and now probably should be coloring more but who has the time and money for that. Not me yet!

So I have been using this L"Oreal Paris Magic Root Cover Up Gray Concealer Spray. It really works well, sometimes it even does the job so well, I don't need to use the dry shampoo either in that spot. It has prolonged my color in between dyes and even stays for 3 days in my experience {if you are not washing it}. Highly recommend it and it is under $10!

Currently Obsessed: Espadrilles

Friday, April 5, 2019

I can barely say "Espadrilles" correctly. Don't know why that word is so hard for me but it really is.

Espadrilles are casual and give a soft chic accent to any spring look.  Wear your same classic outfit like jeans and your favorite white button down, swap the ankle boots for espadrilles and you have a spring look. Easy as that!

Anyways, I am particularly obsessed with these Soludos wink flats and trying to convince myself that I need another pair of flat everyday shoes, I mean I do right????

Currently Obsessed: Vitruvi

Thursday, February 7, 2019

I jumped on the band wagon and got a diffuser over the holidays. I am basically a recovering expensive candle buyer and so this feels like a good compromise for me. Also, it is so damn dry here in DFW area during the winter that I need some humidity while we sleep.

When I searched for a Diffuser/Humidifier, I feel in love with the look of the VITRUVI Diffuser . It is so sleek, modern and fits in with my home decor. It comes in Black, White a Goop Exclusive Grey color but the best is it is like a concrete smooth stone material. I went with the white so that it can easily transfer into any room in my house.

Currently, it is sitting on my night stand and every night I add a mixture of Eucalyptus and Lavender, it smells amazing! They have tons of other individual scents and mixed essential oil kits too. I have seen a lot of people use the "Thieves" essential oil for this cold and flu season.

I've come to find these two products as my go to for everyday wear.

L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara creates the longest lashes I have ever seen from a mascara alone. Super inexpensive and Highly recommend! You can find everywhere too Target, Walgreens, CVS, any grocery store and of course order online via Amazon which makes it even better.

EVERYTHING PRIMER-GLOW from Honest Beauty is super lightweight and makes your skin look dewy and moisturized.  Use it as a primer or wear it alone for a low key no makeup, makeup kind of day.

Sharing with you some of my favorite beauty products I am using these days. I am 35 and starting to really notice a difference in my skin, thanks a lot aging and hormones.  I also live in a much dryer climate now in the DFW area compared to Portland and Houston and my skin has never been more dehydrated looking and ashy which we know makes us look older. So skincare is now something high on my priority list when before the age of 30, I was lucky if I removed my makeup before I went to bed.

MOISTURIZERS

I love the HERBIVORE BOTANICALS product line. In particular their serums are amazing and the packing is very clean and modern. I am a sucker for a nice bottle especially if its going to end up sitting on my bathroom counter like they do.

I use the PHOENIX CELL REGENERATING SERUM in the dryer months right before I go to bed. It is very very moisturizing so a little goes a long way. Probably not for someone with oily prone skin.

Then I alternate the Phoenix serum with the LAPIS FACIAL OIL during the summer months and when I have broken out. This oil is very moisturizing but the blue tansy and lapis oil ingredients soothe broken out skin without clogging pores. It is for combination skin.

They both smell so good! Under $100 but a little goes a long way so you will have it for a while.

 MASKS

These are my absolute favorite moisturizing masks.

MARY LINDSTROM HONEY MUD it's made from all natural products, is super cleansing {you can use it like a facial cleanser or a mask, I prefer mask} and smells so yummy. I use a cheap paint brush to apply it. You can purchase a fancy one from the same brand but I used what I had already. I put it on and leave it for as long as I can. Usually, I put it on get in bed and watch some Real Housewives show and when the episode is over I wash it off. My skin looks always looks and feels like I just had a fabulous spa facial. Highly recommend this product!

BENTON SNAIL BEE HIGH CONTENT FACE MASK yes you read that right snail secretion and bee venom are the ingredients in this super moisturizing and healing face mask. Super affordable, the smell is kind of weird but leave it on for 30 + minutes and your face will thank you! The pack comes with 10 sheet masks. I always put one in my suitcase when we travel to help re-hydrate my skin after a flight. A friend introduce these to me and I gave them out as stocking stuffers for Christmas this year.

Fall Trend: Fringe

The fashionista's have been rockin' this must have fall trend at New York & London Fashion Week. Clearly a skirt is a fun way to wear this trend. I love the flirty fringe look in a long pencil skirt with a more demure top.

But this fringe skirt look could be a little too daring for the more timid or for those of us who can't wear fringe to the office place.

Try adding a touch of fringe to your fall wardrobe with a fringe, purse, shoes, piece of jewelry, or combine this trend with the Poncho Blanket piece!

Have fun with it!
