Time to bring back the Friendship bracelets

Friendship Bracelets

Back in October at my bachelorette weekend in Puerto Vallarta, my friends bought old school friendship bracelets for everyone's gift bag.

... If you grew up in the 80's then you know what bracelets I am talking about....

We then all added to look with custom friendship bracelets from the guys selling Mexican "authentic" goods on the beach. We all loved the look and was constantly ordering more on the beach from the guys and adding to our bangle friendship bracelet look.

I was online shopping for new bangles and bracelets to add to my arm candy collection and stumbled upon Miansai rope bracelets.... aka old school friendship bracelets with adorable charms as clasps. I can't wait to get my hands on one and mix and match with all my other bangles.

Why I Love Distressed Jeans

Wednesday, March 26, 2014

I spend most of my days in distressed jeans. I love them for day, for night and really think they can work for everyday occasions quite nicely.  Considering I work from home and not in a corporate office I can say this more easily then the average 9-5 corp gal. But I really do think it can work in other types of industries.

Whether they are skinny, slouchy, boyfriend cut doesn't really matter most of these looks will work with them.

Keep in mind that if you are wearing slouchy or boyfriend cut keep it more fitted on top and the reverse for the skinny style with looser top. Always great with pumps, pointed flats, wedge sneakers, or booties. I do think it is important to actually finish the look with a motorcycle inspired jacket, blazer (reg. fit or oversized) to keep it more on the polished and put together side.  Really you can have fun with this look!

Just because your jeans looked really lived in doesn't mean you can't look put together overall.

This is a great day outfit for me I would totally wear this on a work day and continue wearing this into happy hour and meeting the hubby for dinner out.

It would also be great for a more low-key date night on the week day or those dates that go from late afternoon into the evening hours. You never want to look to over done during the late afternoons and this will have you looking effortless chic into the evening.

Must Have: Midi Skirt

Monday, March 17, 2014

I am so inspired by these street style images of midi-skirt outfits.The midi skirt creates a throwback silhouette with the flare and volume.

I love it styled ....

high-waisted with a more masculine cut crop top,

featured in girlie color like pink or pastel with a more masculine and harsh cut-out or lace up bootie,

or just a slimming top to balance on the volume on the bottom.

HBO's Girls Stylized

Sunday, March 9, 2014

HBO's Girls is probably one of my favorite shows. Even though I am 30 and technically out of my 20's and the years of struggling to find out who I am, my career, and friendship... Just kidding still doing that lol! BUT I do think because I am more towards the end of utter self-conscious decisions and wondering when I will be ...."at specific validated level for certain age" thought process, I feel I appreciate this show even more than I would watching it during my mid-twenty years.

One the best elements of this show is how absolutely different in every way each of these characters are but yet almost everyone can identify with each of them at different moments. As they are searching for their unique and different life story it is clear the the viewer how each of their voices are already very unique and made even more clear by their character's personal style.

I found this image and thought their Girls character's personal style
so reflected their own actual upbringing....

Jemima Kirke as "Jessa" very vintage and 70's rock & roll

Allison Williams as "Marnie" is classic, a bit all American, and put together

Lena Dunham as "Hannah" is eclectic, a freedom that comes with the self-esteem of a true artist

Zosia Mamet as "Shoshanna", this one is harder to pin for me but a little analytical, very over thought, trendy and very girlie.

SJP New Shoe Line at Nordstrom

Thursday, March 6, 2014

Sarah Jessica Parker came out with her own shoe line that also includes handbags and trench coats. SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker is sold exclusively at Nordstrom

The line is inspired my SJP's love for all things old and new styles Charles Jourdan. AND a little of Carrie Bradhsaw if you ask me. Especially since the handbag below (#5) is very reminiscent of the clutch she carries in the Paris episodes and looses her "Carrie" gold necklace. With SJP love of style and having her line in association with George Malkemus, president of Manolo Blahnik USA, the line is sure to be fabulous and of great quality. The prices range from $200 to $485.

Here are my fav's for the new collection online.

After the Party is the #VanityFair Fashion Party

Monday, March 3, 2014

Ok the red carpet was great but the Vanity Fair Oscar party green and white carpet saw some killer fashion moments!

Erin Wasson in Antonio Berardi

I die! this is so amazing! I love it so much and want this dress but only if I can look like her in it.

8e94e5d08c7f371324cdb901f09812e1

Jaime King in Ulyana Sergeenko

I just find this dress so great! This fabric, shape, color could only be worn by her and she rocks it!

b1c3426a1a0381047a8f1216e4c31648

Diane Kruger in Valentino -and- Joshua Jackson in Berluti

They are the fashion forward King and Queen of the Party. Love this dress and only someone like her could pull it off right. The idea of a brown tuxedo doesn't seem right but Jackson makes this look real good. Together its amazing!

Oscar Night's Red Carpet Best & Worst

Pale Pastels

Kerry Washington in Jason Wu

I like the shape of the dress and idea of this look but the colors are all wrong! This purple hue is washing her out and then the lipstick color makes it worse. She's pregnant and glowing but you wouldn't know with these colors. But seriously she is 3 weeks from her due date and you can tell she is feeling fabulous!

011m

Lupita Nyong'o in Prada

This color is great on her, she looks stunning but I want to take that headband off so bad!!! I really go back and forth with this dress, I feel like it would have been better on the Golden Globes red carpet but it is still gorgeous!

005m

Penelope Cruz in Giambattista Valli

I'm not in love with this dress on her but she is beyond beautiful! It feels like she is trying to cover up a pregnancy.

022m

Structure & Peplums

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture

The color is so great on her and I like that it is sophisticated and classic. I also have a major girl crush on her and not sure if she will ever do wrong! {MY BEST}

023m

Amy Adams in Gucci Premiere

I LOVED this and totally thought she dressed to win. I do like the earrings too they add some fun to a very classic and timeless look. She has done the princess look a lot and then recently a lot of 70's American Hustle style inspired, so this outside of her realm and I like it.  {MY BEST}

004m

The Dark Knights

Julia Roberts in Givenchy

Oh Julia! Better than the Globes but its still not right... not at all. Some how you have managed to make Givenchy look average. How did this not get tailored for you? But you are always gorgeous and all smiles. {THE WORST}

016m

Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen

She looks timeless, beautiful, and a bit safe.

057m

Emma Watson in Vera Wang

When I saw this on E! red carpet coverage I did not like it but it seems to photograph better than it looked on my tv screen. So I don't love it nor do I hate it, I just was expecting something more from her.

054m

Karen O in Camilla Staerk

I don't know who this is or what movie she was in but she looks FABULOUS. So glam! Everything is working right {My BEST}

012m

Anna Kendrick in J.Mendel

I was shocked when I saw this was J.Mendel. Its just has so much going on ... Sheer, rouching, beading, high slit, too much! Its like this dress couldn't leave anything out. But I did like the back of the dress.

28082fee94b58d19616410bf139e630c

Charlize Theron in Dior Haute Couture

I just don't like it. It doesn't look like it fits her body properly, the fabric in the middle is pulling. And the boobs!... no no not good.

013m

Glenn Close in Zac Posen

She looks fabulous in this dress! Bravo!

045m

Anne Hathaway in Gucci

I love this dress and when she was on stage she literally sparkled! Sleek and Gorgeous! {My BEST}

014m

Sochi on Ice continues

The red carpet was a bit over embellished last night, so many sparkles it felt like the continuation of Sochi...

Jessica Biel in Chanel

The dress is gorgeous, she is simply gorgeous but she always looks the same and the dresses are wearing her.

009m

Sally Hawkins in Valentino

The dress is great for someone else, that is much taller .... the hair is terrible! Really Really Terrible.

049m

Naomi Watts in Calvin Klein Collection

I love everything but the necklace, remove the necklace and it would be great! And the lipstick should be darker or lighter but not this color.

007m

Giuliana Rancic in Paola Sebastian

WTF! Really you should not be allowed to be a fashion critique when this is your choice. This is a dress for a 6 year old or a Disney princess... I hate to be the one to break it to you but you are neither. I was wondering why you weren't reporting from the actual red carpet but now I can see why, it's because of this dress. I feel bad saying that because I do love her but this dress is just NO! {MY WORST}

4f8cce99df194f91116b4badf961a3a7

Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive

She is in another category! She is always fabulous and dressed to perfection. She dresses for fashion and art. Gorgeous! The Katherine Hepburn of today!

010m

Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace

Winner of the evening in my opinion! Wow! She killed it! Speechless!  {MY BEST}
