If the idea of a adding a studded or spiked anything to your outfit makes you feel like you are going to look like you are dressing up in costume or auditioning to be on an episode of Sons of Anarchy then here are some tips on how to wear the trend without loosing yourself to a biker gang.

How-to-Wear it

For the timid ...

You are not quite sure if this look is right for you yet. You prefer preppy and classic style, trends tend to make you nervous. Then, just add a bit of flair to your everyday outfit with a studded and/or spiked accessory.

Studded & Spiked Accessories

#1. Gabriella Rocha Vrana Stud Bracelet ($20.99) via 6pm. Simply put on this bracelet solo on your arm with just about any outfit. With the color (yellow) shown above, I think it will look best with jeans & white t-shirt or tans, browns and beige. Perfect for the preppy gal or classic woman. It also comes in Black, White, Brown, Red & Royal.

#2. MFP Spike Bracelet ($48) via Urban Outfitters. This is a great bracelet to add to your bangles. Having multiple bangles, and bracelets that you can switch out according to your attitude, attire, etc is a simple answer to those of us who get bored with the same arm candy. I am constantly on the look out for a new bracelet to add to my arm. *** Remember always wear multiple bracelets or bangles in ODD Numbers!

#3. Kate Spade New York 'Locked in' Large Stud Earrings ($58) via Nordstrom. These stud earrings come in Silver, Gold, Large and Small. For the younger ladies go with the larger stud and for the more mature ladies go with the smaller studs.

#4. La Mer Pyramid Stud Wrap Watch ($106) via Shopbop. I received a La Mer wrap Watch a couple of years ago as a birthday present and I am still wearing it! Fun way to wear the trend in a more conservative style.

#5. Valentino Studded Sunglasses ($285) via Nordstrom. For the lady who knows they will end up wanting more of this trend, these Valentino sunglasses are just the perfect first taste. Besides, they are Valentino which means they will always be classic and in style! I really think these are for any age and are timeless.

For the habitual user...

You like the trend and want to wear it Everyday but in small doses. Great items for you would be a bag, clutch and/or classic style shoes with studded & spiked details.

#1. Cesca Studded Faux-leather Tote in Black ($38) via Nordstrom. Perfect everyday bag for work, weekends and travel.

#2. MAVERIQ Snake Studded Slippers ($64) via Topshop US. Trend combo; smoking slipper and studs. Any age can wear these with just about and pant and/or jean.

#3. Studded Court Shoe ($79) via Zara. There is not too much that I don't LOVE from Zara! But especially I COVET these Pumps, they are an excellent alternative to the Christian Louboutin Spike Classic Pigalle 100mm Pumps (for those of use not in the market for $1,000 shoes). These pumps can be worn day or night, office or night on-the-town and also at any age, since they are not platform and a classic style.

#4.  Valentino Rockstud Patent Leather & Leather Ballet Flat ($595) via Saks Fifth Avenue. Shown above in Blush but also available in Red and Black. Super Chic! LOVE and again for wear everyday for any age! Totally worth the money.

#5. Valentino Studded Tote Bag ($2,202) via FarFetch. If you can do it money wise, then I would say do it!!!!! You will never have buyers-remorse after purchasing Valentino! The shape of the bag is everything too.

For the Fashion Fanatic...

You can't get enough of this trend, you first purchased an accessory this summer like me (I purchased a studded bangle from Urban Outfitters), then some shoes or a bag and now you are going even further and wearing leather, fur and studs! Here are my fav items for the trend lover, they are all the focus item of your outfit, everything else you wear with it should compliment these items not fight with it.

Studded & Spiked

#1. Studded Cross Blouse ($58) via Nasty Gal. Be daring in this sheer button down blouse. Great with leather, as shown above, Jeans, a conservative pencil skirt, and under a blazer.

#2. Topshop Knitted Stud Rib Cardi ($96) via Nordstrom. Trend combo; deep burgundy and studs! A brilliant piece to add to your Fall "in-closet" line up, I love the pairing of the strong studded shoulders with the slouchy boyfriend sweater  look.

#3. Studded Collar Mac with PU Sleeves Trench Coat ($131.93) via ASOS US. Show them who's boss in this fab trench.

#4. Jeffrey Campbell Aubrey Spike Platforms in Nude ($180) via Urban Outfitters. These shoes literally Kick Ass, enough said! Love the juxtaposition of the soft color suede with the harsh studded back.

#5. Sam Edelman Bijoou Studded Minaudiere Clutch ($228) via Bloomingdales US. In the words of Rachel Zoe, This clutch is "MAJOR"! A look for somewhat less for the Alexander McQueen clutch that I adore. Also, could be a great security weapon for the single gal out on the town!

#6. Current/Elliot Ankle Studded Skinny Jeans ($620) via Saks Fifth Avenue. Current/Elliot make the best jeans!
