Target Dupes

Monday, March 18, 2019

TARGET continues to up their game in the knock off department. Not placing any judgement on them, I recently purchased a target dupe of my own,  my favorite kiddo summer shoe, Natives.

REAL DEAL

Last year, I purchased a pair of natives for Anders around this time and within the month he grew out of them. It was very frustrating to have to spend an additional $35 on shoes again one month later. This year, I found a pair at Target that will get the job done just as well as the Natives did. The quality isn't as good obviously, but we could be wearing this pair for 30 days, so we will deal with it.  I will let you know how they last.  Natives has tons of color combinations, styles and quality and Target has a blue pair for boys and a couple of styles for girls.

The price point on these Madewell slides are really great! The quality of all my Madewell items has always been upstanding. So I would be inclined to buy the Madewell ones over the Target, Universal Thread dupes. But in case you are wanting to keep your Spring/Summer shopping bills on the low side this year. The Target ones are super cute and would last the season.

#GIRLBOSS Shop List

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

My book club, entitled "Wine Club for Dummies Book Club" is currently reading #GIRLBOSS about Founder and CEO of Nasty Gal, Sophia Amoruso. Oh and she is 31 years old!

The book so far is really a great read, it's like your having coffee with Sophia as she talks you through her story, process and all things being a bad ass #GIRLBOSS, which is just being your ultimate self-realized self. Doing what you love comes natural, and work doesn't feel like work but like a life you can't get enough of. I am only 1/3 of the way through but I can tell this is the theme she is speaking about. A great read for anyone lady even if she is not a fashionista but just a girl wanting to be in charge of her shit!

Before reading the book, I have been a huge fan of the Nasty Gal website. I mean even their tag line is cool and says it all about their customer. "Nasty Gals do it Better"-

Currently I am Lusting over these pieces...

Friday, August 15, 2014

I can't get enough of my Blush with Gold Hardware Zara Pointy Flats. I have worn them pretty much everyday since Spring.  And every time I wear them I get tons of compliments.

I have searched the internet to find a link to share with you so you can get them too but I have only found them on ebay or poshmark.

Now that Pre-Fall (for Houstonians) and Fall is upon us a perfect Fall replacement shoe to continue wearing the pointy flat look are some Oxblood Pointy Flats.

Here is a test for you fashionista's...  Which Shoe is under $100 ???

Oxblood Pointy Flats

If you Guessed No.1 then you are right!

How to wear your new Oxblood Pointy Flats

Pair your Oxblood flats with those Blush pieces you purchased this past Spring and Summer. The Oxblood color will bring drama to any outfit so make the flats your focus and dress to highlight the shoes and not over power them with more dramatic choices.

The Look for Less: Kerry Washington

I love Kerry Washington's style and in particular adored this outfit she wore back in Fall 2013. How cute is this Stella McCartney Resort 2014 peach long-sleeve shift dress. What isn't really cute is the price tag of this Stella dress {Stella McCartney Embellished Sift Dress, $2,995} but no need to fret... I found the look for less!

Target does it again!

Friday, November 8, 2013

I like to Mix & Match my outfits with high-end designers and items I find at Marshall's and Target so why not do it with your home decor too!

Let's be honest, I wish I wore all High-end Designers and that my entire house was furnished in them too! but that is not the case YET!

At this point, most of my furniture is not high-end. When we moved to our NEW home, I made a bold statement that I have graduated from Ikea and I'm not going to purchase any "college-age" priced furniture. Well I definetly needed to put my foot in my mouth once I started really shopping. Even some Crate & Barrel and West Elm items were making me crunch my numbers and push my limits. I am an instant gratification kind of girl. So I ended up back at Ikea but also started looking at Target. Target did such a great job with the GO collection of High-end designers making more affordable collections for limited times and it seems they have hit the same brilliant trend in Home Decor with their Threshold Line.

Just a word of advice for the furniture items, make sure you pay attention to the measurements. I would stick to decor items and console and side tables.

Get the Look for Less: Rocco Bag

Wednesday, March 6, 2013

If you are like me, then you probably LOVED the Alexander Wang Rocco Bag this past season (shown below) BUT didn't want (or more likely couldn't rationalize doing it) to shell out $895 for it.

Well your in luck!

Check out this great look for less bag from Nasty gal. It's a little darker brown and I am sure the leather is not the same and missing the long strap but if it is the look you are utlimately coveting then this is the bag for you.

Balmain Runway Look for Less!

Friday, October 19, 2012

This Balmain Runway Look isn't from the recent shows but it is a very Now look that I love! Metallic and Whites are great for this Fall season and the White Blazer will transition perfectly into Spring 2013. I know that is too far away to think about but it is a good thing to keep in mind when you are debating on what to actually buy, basically this will last longer then one season's trend.

The Pants - Jbrand 901 Super Skinny Jeans ($144.90) via Saks Fifth Avenue. Roll the pants up or not, will also go great with booties, boots and super cute with some converse tennis shoes and an old t-shirt and white blazer.

The Blazer - Tall Ponte Blazer ($70) via Topshop US. Scrunch up the sleeves or wear it normal. It is machine washable but I tend to always dry clean items like this to help keep their shape!

The Shirt - New Forever T-shirt ($26.39) via ASOS US. Great everyday shirt.

The Belt - Pieces Brisa Leather Skinny Belt ($24.63) via ASOS US.

The Shoes - Steve Madden Intrude Suede Pumps ($69.99) via Dillards.

The Clutch - MeDusa Mini Clutch ($150.88) via Boticca. I think this has a very Blamain feel to it.
