The ladies are taking over the smoking slipper this season!

While shopping in Nantucket last month, I discovered FS/NY French Sole shoes. They are incredibly comfortable, come in a wide variety of styles, and have an adorable “smoking slipper” perfect for this season.

The smoking slippers go great with just about everything, don't over think it, if you would wear ballet flats with your outfit then you can wear your smoking slippers with it too.

Casual Weekend look

The Jeans - Joe's Jeans Rolled Ankle Skinny Jeans (on SALE $143.50) via Piperlime.com. Whether you wear them rolled or not, these are the perfect weekend jeans to pair with you smoking slippers.

The Sweater - Tan Knitted Lightweight Rib Jumper in Angora ($80) via Topshop US. Loving a boyfriend sweater to relax the polished smoking slipper look.

Work look

The Pants - 3.1 Phillip Lim, Flecked Linen Cotton Cropped Trouser ($375) via Ssense.com. The smoking slipper looks best with a cropped trouser or a skinnier pant, think 1960's. Also, keep the pant length a bit shorter, either at your ankle bone or have the pant length meet the top of the back of shoe.

The Shirt - Diane von Furstenberg, Short Sleeve Shirt ($118) via YOOX US. Because the smoking slipper shoe is on the masculine side, pair it with a more feminine ladylike shirt. Tuck your shirt in too, the outfit works best as a polished look.

The Necklace - Vince Camuto, Bib Necklace ($98) via Nordstrom.com.  Add some edge to the outfit with a bib, collar necklace.
